Youth Spending
The economic recession that has affected the globe has not spared the youth. It is interesting to note from the survey conducted by the advertising firm WPP that the teenagers have curtailed they’re spending on clothes, food and various items considerably. The phenomena is well observed in countries like the USA, Spain and Latin America.
This spending pattern has heavily affected the computer game industry as they mostly spend their pocket money in this area. It is to be noted that the youth spending alone comes to around $176 billion per year in the USA where as the teenagers spend as much as $43 billion in Brazil. This sector of the population is to be focused as they can equally stimulate the growth of the economy with their spending power.
About 54 % of the youth in US are optimistic that the economy will look up in here years and they will be in a position to resume their normal level of spending then. Teenagers in the countries like Sweden, Portugal and Brazil are also optimistic about the economic turn around in a period of three years.
